Who collects it

What we collect

What you give us — your sign-in email, and the contact details and message you choose to send an agent or provide for an inspection or appraisal. We may also receive your details from an agent or agency you have dealt with.
Anonymous usage — how the site is used (pages, searches, listings and buildings you browse, what you tap, how far you read, and whether you started a form — never what you typed in it), recorded against a random identifier in your browser, with at most a coarse country and state or region. Not your name, not your precise location, not your raw IP address.

Why we collect it

to run the platform and connect you with agents;
to send you only the alerts and newsletters you opt in to;
to keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations; and
to understand how the platform is used, and to build aggregate, de-identified insight about property demand — a data asset we own and may licence, sell, or transfer in a sale of our business.

Giving us your details is your choice, not a legal requirement. But if you leave out something a form marks as required, we may not be able to create your account or pass your enquiry to the agent.

Anonymous by default

You can browse without identifying yourself, and our usage analytics are anonymous — including Google Analytics, which is never linked to your account. If we ever link usage to your account, it will be strictly opt-in and withdrawable — never required to use the site.

Who handles it, and where

Your enquiry details go to the agent you contact, who then holds their own copy under their own obligations. We use Supabase (database, hosted in Australia) and Vercel (application delivery) to run the platform, plus providers for email, telephony and maps. Some of those providers operate in the United States and other countries. We discard raw IP addresses at collection.

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, so this site carries the Meta advertising pixel. It tells Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States) which pages you viewed, whether you searched, whether you asked to see an agent's phone number, and whether you sent an enquiry or created an account, so we can tell which ads work. Your name, email, phone number, what you typed into a search and the words of your enquiry are never sent to Meta.

We also use Google Analytics (Google LLC, United States) to see how people find and use the site — which pages and listings you opened, whether you searched or enquired, and which site or search brought you here. Same rule: your name, email, phone number, what you typed into a search and the words of your enquiry are never sent to Google, and we do not link it to your account.

We do not sell information that identifies you, and we do not pass your details to anyone for their own marketing.

Your choices

You can opt out of advertising measurement at any time. There is a Don't track me control at the bottom of our Privacy Policy, and the same switch sits under Privacy & data in your account settings if you have an account. It covers both the Meta pixel and Google Analytics. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal we do not load either one. The site works the same whichever you choose.

You can ask us to access or correct your information, withdraw a consent, or delete your data — email info@heritagemelbourne.com.
