Former Bank of Australasia, 394 Collins Street
Reed & Barnes's 1876 head office for the Bank of Australasia — raised three storeys in 1929 without closing for a day — is now apartments known as Treasury on Collins.
Hero Apartments, 118 Russell Street
Built in 1954 to switch a city's calls without operators, the Russell Street telephone exchange became Hero Apartments in 2001 — six Corten storeys taller.

W & R Butler's 1924 merchant house for James Henty & Co — the first tall building in Little Collins Street, on the site of Melbourne's first cathedral; apartments since 1996.
One Exhibition, 1 Exhibition Street
The Victorian Cricket Association built this seven-storey corner tower in 1925 to fund the game — on a street then called Collins Place. It has been apartments since 1993.
Flinders Lane, the rag-trade corridor
Gazetted in 1843, signposted as Little Flinders Street into the 1930s, and known to the clothing trade simply as the Lane — the street where Melbourne's rag trade lived, now lived in.
Manchester Lane, off Collins Street
A short lane off Collins named the way drapers talk, where Robert Haddon's green-tiled 1912 front startled the trade press — and the warehouses now hold homes.
